Volkswagen receives an award at the European Market Place in Brussels

At the end of the European Market Place in Brussels, Volkswagen was honoured by the organizer CSR Europe for its European cooperation project "Sustainability in supplier relations".

Volkswagen runs this sustainability project in cooperation with the computer company Hewlett-Packard and the cement manufacturer Titan. Together with suppliers, government representatives and social groups, solution approaches are exchanged and developed for achieving compliance with environmental, social and quality standards.

The company representatives Dr. Daniel-Sascha Roth (Volkswagen), Maria Alexiou (Titan) and Karl Daumüller (HP) accepted the certificate together in the presence of around 600 representatives from the economic, social and political circles in Brussels.

CSR Europe is a network of leading European and multinational companies for the promotion of social responsibility. The organisation was founded in 1995 by the European Commission, and has now organized the European Market Place for the third time. Dr. Gerhard Prätorius, head of "CSR Coordination and Sustainability" at Volkswagen said: "CSR Europe is the European platform for stakeholder dialogue. It enables a diverse exchange of ideas and we learn from each other. We regard this award for our joint project as recognition of the goals achieved so far and an incentive to carry on the work."
